Additional Info

Short Statement: Displacement and reconstruction can only be justified when there is complete compatibility and a sense of partnership among all the stakeholders in the venture or effort. Responsibility of sustainable measures should invariably be an integral part of each and every R & R policy, especially for those ventures - where there is shift in means of livelihood and where land for land is not provided. Gender issues and women’s position have to be adequately addressed, more so, in affected patriarchal societies.
Displacement Experience: Presently working in an extractive industry for Resettlement and Rehabilitation of project affected people. Worked for Narmada Valley Resettlement and Rehabilitation programme on behalf of Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India.
Accomplishments: Successfully conducted public consultation for Narmada Valley Resettlement and Rehabilitation programme and helped in R&R policy formulation. Highlighted livelihood reconstruction for oustees and land losers in Narmada Valley project and those affected by extractive industries. Presently working on ensuring community participation and furthering corporate social responsibility.
Highest Degree: Ph.D in Anthropology from Ranchi University and M.Phil, Delhi University.
