The film ‘Yemen: Refugees crossing the Gulf of Aden’ is now available to view online. The film reports how thousands of people risk their lives every year to cross the Gulf of Aden to escape from conflict, violence, drought and poverty.

Forced Migration Online (FMO) provides instant access to a wide variety of online resources dealing with the situation of forced migrants worldwide. Designed for use by practitioners, policy makers, researchers, students or anyone interested in the field, FMO aims to give comprehensive information in an impartial environment and to promote increased awareness of human displacement issues to an international community of users. We have prepared an introductory guide to forced migration for visitors who are new to the subject.

FMO is coordinated by a team based at the Refugee Studies Centre, Oxford Department of International Development (ODID), University of Oxford. FMO and the Digital Library Project were funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the European Commission between 1997 and 2004. Since January 2005, FMO has been funded by the Department for International Development (DFID).

This research guide provides an in-depth examination of local integration as a durable solution and focuses on key developments within research, policy and practice. This includes an examination of protracted refugee situations, self-settled refugees and livelihood strategies.

The Iraq resources now include a podcast which was recorded recently in Jordan, it includes interviews with a number of Iraqis from a range of backgrounds and current situations. Since 2003 at least 2 million Iraqis have left Iraq and there are now an estimated 750,000 Iraqis seeking refuge in Jordan.

Returnee children in Guatemala, where reparations and reconciliation remain largely unresolved. After 36 years of armed conflict, the Historical Clarification Commission was established in June 1994 to investigate human rights violations in Guatemala. Master of Science in Forced Migration
The MSc degree in Forced Migration offers a dynamic and intellectually rigorous path to the examination of forced migration resulting from conflict, repressive regimes, environmental change and development policies. Scholarship opportunities available.
Summer School in Forced Migration
The international summer school fosters dialogue between academics, practitioners and policymakers working to improve the situation of refugees and other forced migrants. It provides the time and space for them to reflect on their experiences.
